Hello!

About Christine

Hi! My name is Christine and I’m very excited to be part of the 2021 Web Design Lab class. I currently work on the design team for a tech company, and my primary focus is user experience and content development. Since I have a background in education, especially in the context of technology use, I’m hoping focus my doctoral research in this area as well — looking at motivation, design, and learning experiences on mobile and desktop devices.

A bit more about my background: After completing my undergraduate degree, I went on to complete a master’s degree in education with a focus on instructional technology, and have continued to work in various education roles throughout my career. I’ve primarily worked in corporate education, but have also conducted K-12 educational research. For the first part of my career, I specialized in instructional design for customer education and documentation—working as an ID, a project manager, and as a design lead overseeing a team of writers and designers. For the past few years, I have been working on the design team as a user interface (UX) writer and designer.

These past many months while sheltering in place, I’ve been cooking and trying new recipes, started a vegetable garden (and ended up with basil, peppers and tomatoes!), and have hit the streets on my roller skates — luckily with no injuries yet! I’m really looking forward to a post-pandemic world where I can travel, eat at my favorite restaurants, and hang out with friends and family at a distance < 6 feet away.

Including this Ramen! link & image as an example of a restaurant experience I look forward to.

As part of Module 1, I ended up grabbing rainbow screenshots and this was one of my favorites. I was inspired by the rainbow photos after seeing one as I was driving down the freeway one early Friday morning recently.

Here’s an example of one of the screenshots I uploaded.

And, and inspirational quote seems appropriate 😉
